History

Ferguson Group is a privately owned group of companies headquartered in Aberdeenshire, Scotland established in 1976 to service the accommodation and container needs of the North Sea oil & gas industry. 


The Group is made up of seven operating companies training under four divisions and employing over 160 people worldwide:

 

  • Ferguson Seacabs - Offshore Container Division 
  • Ferguson Modular - Offshore Accommodation/Workspace Module Division 
  • Ferguson Accommodation Service Vessels - Accommodation Service Vessel Division  
  • IceBlue Refrigeration Offshore - Offshore Refrigerated Container Division 

 

The company operates from purpose-built manufacturing premises in Inverurie, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Everything from initial design work to producing the finished product is carried out in-house, allowing the highest quality control standards to be carried out. 

The Company has built up an excellent reputation for the high quality of its products, its short lead times and its superlative customer service.

 

Milestones in our history...


1976
Ferguson Seacabs founded.


1982
Container operations moved to Aberdeen.


1985
New manufacturing facility opened in Inverurie, Aberdeenshire.
 

1992
Container operations relocated to the present site in Bridge of Don, Aberdeen.


1999
Ferguson Norge is formed, based in Stavanger.
 

2004
Group turnover exceeds £10 million.
 

2006
Group turnover exceeds £20 million.
 

2007
Ferguson Seacabs in Australia is formed. Modular activities are de-merged from Ferguson Seacabs Ltd to form Ferguson Modular Ltd.
 

2008
Container fleet reaches 10,000 units and module fleet reaches 200 units.
 

2009
Ferguson Seacabs in Singapore is formed.
 

2010
Group’s first Accommodation Service Vessel is completed on the Clyde. Group turnover exceeds £50 million.
 

2011
IceBlue Refrigeration Offshore Ltd is formed. Group relocates to new purpose-built Headquarters in Kintore, Aberdeen.
 

2012
International container fleet will exceed 16,000 units and module fleet will exceed 300 units.
Ferguson Seacabs opens new facilities in Stavanger and Perth WA.
